This Is How You Harbor!

Exploring The National Harbor was so fun! This was my second time visiting the area so I was excited to explore and check out the scene. During my staycation at the AC hotel, we did a little bit of everything, and I’m not exaggerating! Bar crawling, shopping, wheel riding, dinner, dancing, we did it all. Below is a recap of each place we visited.
National Harbor

Day 1: After checking in our hotel, we started our day by visiting the AC lounge. The atmosphere there is super chill. My drink of choice was a gin & tonic but all the other cocktails on the menu sounded amazing. If cocktails are not your thing, they do offer a great selection of wines. We continued our day with a fun little bar crawl in which there was not a place we did not like.

Walrus Oyster & Ale house. We started our night at Walrus Oyster & Ale house. I love a place that has good seafood along with good beer! We ordered a few appetizers to share. One of my fave small bites was their deviled eggs and and blue crab dip. I would recommend this place for large group friend gatherings and it’s also a good place to watch your fave football team play! They also have a great happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. where they offer $2 off their tap wines and oysters are $1.50.
Granite CIty Food and Brewery.

Granite CIty Food and Brewery. Our second stop was Granite City Food and Brewery. We tasted a few beers that were well paired with a few small appetizers. They have really good flat breads and you can curate your own beer flights that are only $4.95. They also do offer a selection of cocktails and wine. This place is great to celebrate the birthday of that special man in your life! It has very masculine-meets-chic vibes and a great selection of food that won’t leave them HANGRY! Most men tend to eat a lot LoL

Bobby Mckey’s Piano BarThe third and lost stop of our bar crawl was Bobby Mckey’s Piano Bar. This was a great way to end our evening. We had such a blast requesting songs and sipping on some delicious cocktails. They also provide you with neon glow sticks which took me back to my clubbing days! People really go all out with the singing at this place so come ready to party and make new friends.

: The next day we had a pretty laid back and chill day. We started with breakfast at the AC hotel and shopping at Tanger Outlets. It was our first time visiting the outlets so we def took our time to explore. I found really awesome deals and H&M and Calvin Klein and plan to do some more exploring very soon (make sure to visit their customer center and ask for their coupon booklet). During the second half of our day, we finally visited the Capital Wheel! I had no idea you could bring your drink with you to enjoy the views, that was a pleasant surprise. The drinks even come in special plastic glasses so you don’t spill. After riding the wheel, you can relax by their flight deck with (why not) another drink.
During our second half of our afternoon at The National Harbor, we visited Muse Paint bar where I got reminded on how I can’t follow directions to save my life! Lol This place is super cute and totally perfect for date night! We took a two-hour class where we painted a fun little tree. I’m def no artist but I think my end product came out pretty good. Wine and food is also available for sale at this place.

MGMThe evening came along and it was time for us to get all dolled up to visit MGM Casino. We had a car that transported us there but the ride via an Uber is also super short. The crowd here was very diverse; you see people in comfy casual clothes but you also see a super fancy crowd wearing cocktail attire. There are a few shops inside the casino as well as a few restaurants. Our dinner destination was Fish by Jose Andres. We quickly got the party started by ordering family style and shared a few of their recommended dishes, everything was yummy! They have a great cocktail selection and the decor inside def makes you feel like you are sailing! A few items I liked off the menu was their yummy Mac N Cheese, Fried Oysters and Lobster Jambalaya. The restaurant is open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. weekends and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays.

Fish by Jose AndresFish by Jose AndresWe ended our day at Felt bar where we also got the chance to watch the boxing fight that was happening that evening and did a little dancing (and tequila shots) in between. Felt bar has a great outdoor space and you can reserve table service. It super chic so def bring your A game to this place!

National Harbor def has so much to offer. Whether you go there with your significant other or you make it a family trip, there is something to do for everyone
