Loews Madison Hotel

Labor Day weekend for us this year didn’t involve BBQs or beach getaways. As most Washingtonians were fleeing the city to enjoy last min vacations, we decided to stay and enjoy a much needed staycation at the beautiful Loews Madison Hotel. Trust us when we say, sometimes a staycation is much better than a vacation … especially when it involves the following:

We checked in on a Friday and were beyond excited to explore everything the hotel had to offer as well as the surrounding neighborhoods. One thing that stood out right away at the hotel was the impeccable customer service. Everyone was extremely friendly and always willing to help. We were set up in one of their suites that connected to another room and the suite was big enough to fit a family or group of 4-6 friends. We also paid close attention to the details and noticed the well curated decor throughout the property and in the rooms. A beautiful space always enhances a hotel experience. You want that room to feel like home away from home, and here it definitely did!
Binder1_Page_06The Loews staff was kind enough to greet us with some champagne and chocolate strawberries upon arrival, which we all know starts off the night the right way. We also think this should be a standard greeting for all guests at all hotels but hey a girl can dream right? After settling in, we grabbed appetizers and drinks at Rural Society and later that evening invited a few friends over for a girls night out. Loews hotel is located in the heart of DC, making it one of the most geographically convenient locations and in walking distance to our favorite lounges, bars and restaurants. We decided on STK (our go to spot in midtown). The food, the atmosphere, and drinks are always on point. They also have some of the best DJ’s spinning at all times!

I’ve been a resident of DC for three years now and have not yet made the trip to visit the White House (ahhh I know!) so I thought this was the perfect occasion to do so. The White House is just a few blocks walk from Loews Madison! Despite all the protesters outside, my friend Jess and I had fun taking photos and just enjoying a nice walk around the west wing. Later that day we also visited The Phillips collection – a beautiful boutique museum with exquisite art exhibitions. Grab drinks at the Embassy Row after all the walking to unwind in style.
Binder1_Page_07I finished the staycation by brunching at Rural Society by chef Jose Garces with a few of my DC neighbor friends. I recommend their bottomless mimosas or bloody mary’s for $20 with an entrée or their Pre Fix brunch for $25 which includes a choice of their first course, second course, complementary bread and tea or coffee. See entire menu HERE!

We can’t say enough good things about the Loews Madison Hotel. I hope you enjoy this look book and check out this wonderful property next time you visit DC or decide to staycation like we did.
