Favorite restaurants to visit when feeling fancy!

The holidays are gone, and we have officially greeted a new decade — who is excited? In today’s blog post, I’m listing my top restaurants to visit when wanting an excuse to get fancy!

Blue Duck Tavern: If you have visitors in town you’d like to impress, bring them to the Park Hyatt! Their star lobby-level restaurant is classy, beautiful and has the best food. They also have the cutest patio. It’s a bit too cold to chill out there these days, but if you get lucky with a semi-warm winter evening, grab one of their hot cocktails by their outdoor fire pit while you wait for your table. Their seasonal menu will have you coming back for more. My personal favorite items are their roasted duck, crispy Brussels sprouts, and braised short ribs! They also have a great selection of teas.

Brasserie Liberte: Let’s get real fancy now! The classy decor across this new restaurant is next-level, and we can thank local designer Maggie O’Neill for that. She truly went all out, with lush velvet curtains, blue-stained wood floors, and snazzy seating areas to die for! If you plan to dine with a party of 4, make sure to reserve their elaborate egg-shaped booth, see photo above! I see lots of future proposals happening here, too (oh, hi future fiance!) lol. Now to the food — def start with a little escargot, beet salad, and my favorite, beef bourguignon! They also make a mean Moscow mule.

Seven Reasons: This is the place to come to feel sexy! They were voted America’s best restaurant by Esquire magazine so expectations were high (and def met). I love their open kitchen and bar area. Their cocktail program is next-level, so start out with a strong drink prior moving to some fine wine. Start with some cheese arepitas and bluefin tuna tartare, and their fried octopus and mondongo is out of this world! You’ll most likely see its Venezuelan chef Enrique Limardo cooking in their open kitchen! Ladies, he is NOT dessert lol but he’ll def make you a good one.

Poca Madre: I’ve written about Poca Madre before and well, I’m doing it again because it’s that good! I always bring all my cool out-of-towner friends here to show off lol! As you should know by now, mezcal and tequila are my two favorite spirits, and Poca Madre knows how to make amazing cocktails with both. I also go for their duck tacos (pato al pastor), hamachi ceviche, and pollo con mole. Plating presentations are always on point, so be prepared to catch that IG moment that’ll leave your friends with major FOMO moments. You are welcome!

Central Michel Richard: This iconic French restaurant is a must this holiday season! I love the cozy, yet classy, vibes it gives you the minute you walk in. Want to impress the future in-laws? Bring them here, or if it’s just you and your boo, this place will also give you “let’s just fall in love vibes.” They also have a spectacular wine list. Do not skip over their famous cheese puffs, so good! Their broiled scallops are also delicious. This place also stands out for its top-notch customer service.
